Merry Christmas.....

Well I know you all are anxiously waiting to see if I made it home for Christmas (I mean way more important news then say one of our closest friends getting engaged=)...Love you Aubri! hey and where are some pictures of the ring, remember I want all different angles!!!! Ok so back to the topic at hand) I unfortunately did not make it home....it was just to sketchy for us to drive up there late at night on Christmas Eve. My sister called my mom half way up there and told her that I should not attempt it that she would just be too worried about us not making it up there with the roads the way they were from Portland to Olympia. So I of course freaked out and cried on the phone to my parents, who were so great about everything and did their best to calm me down. Like I mentioned earlier I just was not ready for this to be my first christmas in 24 years not to be with my parents or grandma! So after I calmed myself down we went over to Rion's grandma's house and had a slumber party with his parents, brother, uncle, Gma and Gpa. Very festive and fun Christmas eve, but unlike ours at home since my family is loud and crazy, but in a good way=). Christmas morning was quiet, but very relaxing. Everyone went around the circle opening one gift at a time, something I was very unfamiliar with. My nephews are 19, 11, and 9 and they rip through their presents with no hesitation or pause, yelling and screaming at one another with what they got.......might sound caotic, but it's music to my ears! After the present opening we all went over to Aunt Letha's house, which is beautiful! It's this 1940's house in a historic part of east Portland that has been completely redone, but still has it's original character. Everytime we go over there I tell Rion I want a house just like hers! We opened more presents and then had a big crab feed, which was delicious. Although Rion's family is completely wonderful and I've been around them all long enough to feel comfortable it's still nothing like being around your own family. I know there are sacrifices to be made when you are sharing a life with someone, but man is it hard to try and juggle the families around the holidays, you definitely have to be creative to fit everyone in=). Well I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday and got to spend it with their loved ones!
PS. Rion and I got Rock Band 2!!!! So I might not be on here for awhile since I will be working on my drumming and guitar skills!!!!!!

Here we are in the snow at Grandma and Grandpa's Christmas Eve=).

No More SNOW!!!

Ok so the snow was fun for the first few days, but I am super tired of it now! We have a foot and half of snow on the ground and the roads are completely covered, I haven't seen the pavement since Saturday! I tried to drive in it yesterday in Rion's four wheel drive....not a good idea! Without chains I was slipping and sliding all over the place so I didn't get far. Now we're not sure if we're going to make it to FW for Christmas, which would be super upsetting since i've never spent a Christmas away from my parents and I just don't think i'm ready to make that break yet=(. Today we made to Les Schwab down the street to see if they even had chains. Well they had some, but they were $100, which is a bit tough to shell out during the holiday season. So we're going to think about it tonight and then go back in the morning if we are desperate, which at this point i'm pretty darn desperate to get out of the house and not fear for my life when we're out on the road! Well I hope everyone else is being safe in their traveling this holiday season.

Aubri- i'd like to get an update on how digging your car out of the snow with a bed pan worked out =). I was laughing so hard when I read that on facebook, I know you probably did not think it was funny, but I just had this image in my head that was hilarious!
