Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!!! I think this year's Thanksgiving was the best one yet. Even though I didn't get to spend it with my husband (Fred Meyer is open on Thanksgiving......who the heck buys electronics on Thanksgiving day?!) at least I got to spend it with my parents and siblings, something that I was really looking forward to. Because of the darn snow our Thanksgiving dinner attendance was a bit lower then expected but we still managed to have about 20 people over at my Grandma's house. This past year my Mom and Grandma managed to put together some old home videos from the 60's and 70's and take them into Costco to convert to DVDs. So after dinner we all sat around and watched the videos which were hilarious. Even though there was no sound, costco was able to put the movies to music which was kind of nice. So funny to see the difference in hair styles and trends. Also kind of weird to think that I was no where near being in the picture, but that most of my cousins were babies in the movies. I forget sometimes there's such a big age gap since we all get along so well.
The rest of the time up north was spent hanging around the house with the fam. We did go Black Friday shopping in which we made it back to the house by 7:30AM, record time in my opinion since we hit 5 stores!!! Best part about it was that I am now done Christmas shopping!!!! WAHOO!!
Friday afternoon my Mom had her PreOp appointment for her surgery tomorrow. It was nice to go with her because I got to see where my Dad and I will be hanging out and just overall got a better idea of what's going to happen. Once we got done with that we headed home for a little fire action in our backyard. No matter rain or shine we seem to have a fire=). Since it was raining and cold I decided to borrow my Dad's camo coat and hat......I kind of wish I had gotten a picture because i'm sure I looked rediculous =). Oh well had to stay warm!
It was a great trip and I'm really thankful to have gotten to hang out with my Mom. I'm sure she'll be down for some time, but definitely not out. She's one tough cookie!

Life's curve balls
Life throws you curve balls, but you either learn to swerve them or hit them like there is no tomorrow. -Sadie Christman
I found this quote randomly the other day and I thought it would be a good way to start this post. In the beginning of October life threw my family a curve ball, my Mom was diagnosed with breast cancer. It was a shock but my Mom as many people have said is "one tough cookie". She's dealing with the news and the plan of attack with a positive attitude and I know that she's going to pull thru this thing stronger then before. I posted the picture below, it's one of my favorites from the wedding. She is one beautiful lady =)

Post Wedding Update
It's been almost three months since my last post, time flies by. I've had some time on my hands since my wedding planning has ended so i've updated my page a bit =). The wedding was fabulous!! I definitely was glad it was over, but same as Jessie (comment from a prior post) I just kept thinking about it days after. I LOVE thinking back on that day and looking at the pictures and watching our wedding video. But like I said i'm SO glad I don't have to think about the planning anymore and we get to focus on other things. After the wedding we went to Jamaica which was amazing! Although it was hurricane season it really didn't impact our trip that much, just some rain here and there. I did post the videos below, one was taken at 3AM when Rion and I were awaken by thunder and lightening. We went down to the beach to watch the lightening storm which was awesome, I just wish I could have captured more of it on tape! The other one was taken at our favorite raggae cafe, which had the best french fries ever! I also added some extra photos from the wedding that I really liked =).

6 Days
6 days until I walk down the aisle! Am I excited? Yes. However, I'm not sure if any of you experienced this when you were just about to get married. But it seems like everyone and there mom asks me if i'm excited. Of course i'm excited, but i've started to get to the point where I'm tired of people asking me. My response now is "ya..I guess" then I get a funny look, I bet wondering why i'm not jumping up and down. Honestly, this has been 6 1/2 years in the making. I knew I wanted to marry Rion only after a few months after dating him. There has never been a question of "if" but "when". Not only that but we've been engaged for over a year so this day at this point has felt like it were never going to get here. I'm also a little sad and disappointed that this day is so close. Everyone has told me how quickly this day will go by and what a blur it will be. Seems sad to me that I've spent all this time and money into planning this one day only to have it fly by in an instant. I'm really excited to see everyone, but in the same breath i'm disappointed I won't be able to spend more time talking to everyone. I'm also a little nervous about how i'll feel once it's all over, will I have wedding planning withdrawls? For those of you who have been thru this what did you feel like after the wedding? Any words of wisdom?
PS. I LOVE this hot weather we're having in the northwest, but we do have air conditioning=).

5 months
Well it's been 5 months since my last post......time flies. In the last 5 months Rion and I have done numerous repairs/updates to the house, obtained a roommate, I graduated from PSU with my masters and we've somehow managed to get this wedding planned. We're down to less then two months until I become Mrs. Hiersche. Everything is coming together, now it's just finishing up the last minute things that i've been putting off, like ordering decorations and finalizing the day of schedule. Up until now I haven't been all that excited, more stressed and anxious then excited. Now I just can't wait!!! Rion and I went to his cousin Karla's wedding this past week and it was so much fun. Ever since then I've been super excited to get this thing going, but also i'm reminding myself to enjoy the moment and not to think too much about the future, but to live in the present. It's definitely easier said then done, but i'm reminding myself that I'll look back on this moment and miss it. Has anyone heard that Tracy Atkins song "your going to miss this"? I heard it today while listening to pandora and thought it was absolutely perfect with how I think about things. Below are the lyrics
She was staring out that window, of that SUV
Complaining, saying I can't wait to turn 18
She said I'll make my own money, and I'll make my own rules
Mamma put the car in park out there in front of the school
Then she kissed her head and said I was just like you
You're gonna miss this
You're gonna want this back
You're gonna wish these days hadn't gone by so fast
These are some good times
So take a good look around
You may not know it now
But you're gonna miss this
Before she knows it she's a brand new bride
In a one-bedroom apartment, and her daddy stops by
He tells her It's a nice place
She says It'll do for now
Starts talking about babies and buying a house
Daddy shakes his head and says Baby just slow down
'Cause You're gonna miss this
You're gonna want this back
You're gonna wish these days hadn't gone by so fast
These are some good times
So take a good look around
You may not know it now
But you're gonna miss this
Five years later there's a plumber workin' on the water heater
Dog's barkin', phone's ringin'
One kid's cryin', one kid's screamin'
She keeps apologizin'
He says they don't bother me
I've got 2 babies of my own
One's 36, one's 23
Huh, it's hard to believe
But you're gonna miss this
You're gonna want this back
You're gonna wish these days hadn't gone by so fast
These are some good times
So take a good look around
You may not know it now
But you're gonna miss this
You're gonna miss this
Yeah, you're gonna miss this
Complaining, saying I can't wait to turn 18
She said I'll make my own money, and I'll make my own rules
Mamma put the car in park out there in front of the school
Then she kissed her head and said I was just like you

Help!!!
I've gotten so much done for the wedding in the last week it's crazy! And I'm starting to get super excited, we booked the DJ "Bustamove" so you guys better be ready to do just that!! My only problem that I just recently ran into is my dress. I need some advice…..so I already bought my dress and got it at a great price, I really think it's beautiful, very simple, but just the other day I went into David's Bridal to get a swatch and they had a dress hanging there that I think is super super cute!! It's just like another dress I tried on when I was up in Washington, that I absolutely loved, but really couldn't afford, but this one is half the price of that one. So I tried it on last night and I am really undecided on what I should do now. I could sell my other dress on Ebay/craigslist (hopefully someone would want to buy it) and buy the other one or just keep the one I have and try not to think about the other one. Below are pictures of both, I really need your guys's help with this one!!

Here's the link to the one I already have:

Here's the one from David's Bridal (the back is so pretty on this one too, just FYI=)):

Also I chopped off my hair, it's been a little weird getting used to, but I kind of like the new look. What do you guys think?
